Biography

Emily Cox Pahnke is an Associate Professor at the Foster School of Business, University of Washington, where she holds the Lawrence P. Hughes Endowed Professorship in Innovation and Entrepreneurship. She has a PhD and MA from Stanford University and an MBA and BS from Brigham Young University. Pahnke specializes in collaborations, entrepreneurship, innovation, network analysis, technology innovation strategy, and venture capital. She has received several honors including the KSG Entrepreneurship Research Award (2022) and the Ideas Worth Teaching Award from the Aspen Institute. Her accolades also include the Lex N. Gamble Award for Excellence in Curriculum Innovation and Case Development in 2021, and recognition as Faculty of the Quarter for several terms. Pahnke has been awarded the Emerging Scholar Award by the Technology Innovation Management Division of the Academy of Management and the Schulze Distinguished Professorship in Entrepreneurship from the National Foundation. Additionally, she has received grants for her research and curriculum development efforts.
