Dr. Emily St Denis

Biography

Emily St. Denis is an Assistant Professor at Queen's University, specializing in geriatric psychiatry. She joined the Division of Geriatric Psychiatry in 2021 after completing her residency training in general psychiatry and geriatric psychiatry at Queen's University. Dr. St. Denis holds a MSc. in Community Health Epidemiology from Queen's University, contributing to her work at the Canadian Institute for Health Information, focusing on the development of mental health indicators. She completed her Medical Doctorate at the Medical University of the Americas, where she finished rotations in both the United States and Canada. Dr. St. Denis is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada as of 2020 and has a keen interest in capacity assessments, an area in which she teaches trainees. Additionally, her research interests include mood and anxiety disorders in older adults, and she is in the process of becoming certified in Interpersonal Therapy. Dr. St. Denis is actively involved in helping to develop a mood and anxiety disorder clinic aimed specifically at older adults, seeking to expand psychotherapy services for this population at Providence Care Hospital.
