Biography

Emily Steiner is a leading scholar in the field of Medieval Literature, currently serving as the M. Rosenthal Professor of English at the University of Pennsylvania. She has received her BA from Brown University and her PhD from Yale University. Her scholarly contributions include several significant publications, such as 'Documentary Culture Making Medieval English Literature' (Cambridge University Press, 2003) and 'Reading 'Piers Plowman'' (Cambridge University Press, 2013). Her research interests span a variety of topics including the intersections of natural history, law, literature, and drama in the Middle Ages, along with Jewish-Christian relations. She is also involved in editing volumes and has a keen interest in Digital Humanities and Environmental Humanities.
