Dr. Emma Aller

Biography

Emma Sofie Timm Aller is a Postdoc in the Section of Molecular Plant Biology at the University of Copenhagen. Her research focuses on understanding how plants respond to environmental stress, particularly the dynamics of molecular interactions that are inherited across generations. She investigates the high phenotypic variation in plants that develop to cope with ever-changing environments and how heritable traits are determined by changes in DNA sequences and epigenetic factors. Through her bioinformatic analyses of various sequencing types, Emma aims to unravel the intricate networks that are affected by stress. She is particularly fascinated by how stress signals can be communicated among neighboring plants, and how these signals persist across generations. Emma has a comprehensive background in plant biology, having progressed through various roles including Research Assistant and PhD student at the DynaMo Center. She holds a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Biology-Biotechnology from the University of Copenhagen.
