Biography

Emma Elliott is an Associate Professor in the Department of Learning Sciences and Human Development at the University of Washington. As a member of the Cowichan Tribes, her research focuses on the interdisciplinary intersections of culture, learning, and human development, particularly through land-based Indigenous methodologies. She holds a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology, a Master of Social Work, and a Master of Education from the University of Washington. Dr. Elliott's emerging work combines land-based education with relational sovereignty and legal analysis to understand the structural conditions affecting the possibilities for healing and the thriving of Indigenous communities.
