Biography

Emma Godfrey is a Reader in Health Psychology at King's College London, where she leads the Education in Health Psychology. She has been with King's since 2001 after completing her Politics, Philosophy and Economics degree at Oxford and a ten-year training in dramatherapy. Emma obtained her PhD in Psychology from King's in 2004. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society while being a HCPC Registered Practitioner Psychologist and Dramatherapist. Her research focuses on the development and evaluation of interventions to assist individuals in managing long-term health conditions, particularly chronic pain and psychological treatments delivered by allied health professionals. Key areas of interest include health psychology applied to children and young people, student mental health, and the integration of dramatherapy techniques into psychological interventions. Emma also serves as an external examiner for the Integrated Masters Clinical Health Psychology program at the University of Liverpool and is an independent member of the Trial Steering Committee for the University of Oxford PEP-TALK Trial. Additionally, she plays a role in advancing research in allied health professions through her participation in various committees.
