Emma Sky is the founding director of the International Leadership Center at Yale's Jackson School of Global Affairs, where she teaches courses on great power competition and cooperation, grand strategy, and Middle East politics. She has a strong background in international relations, having served as a political advisor to the Commanding General of U.S. Forces in Iraq and as a development advisor to the Commander of NATO’s International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan. She has provided technical assistance in areas such as poverty elimination, human rights, access to justice, security sector reform, and conflict resolution across the Middle East, South Asia, Latin America, and Africa. Additionally, she is the author of the highly acclaimed books 'Unravelling: High Hopes and Missed Opportunities in Iraq' and 'Time Monsters: Travelling the Middle East Revolt'.
