Biography

Emma Spanswick is an Associate Professor at the University of Calgary, specializing in the fields of Geospace Dynamics and Space Plasma Physics. She holds a PhD in Physics from the University of Calgary, earned in 2009. Her research interests focus on Dynamics of the Near-Earth Space Environment, utilizing Ground-Based Remote Sensing techniques and developing Ground-Based Remote Instrumentation. Emma is also involved in the design and development of Satellite Auroral Imagers. In addition to her academic role, she serves as the Co-Lead for Space Defence Technologies Alberta (SDTech_AB), contributing to strategic initiatives at the university that enhance understanding and exploration of our space environment.
