Biography

Emmanouil Tsamis is an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmic Science at the Department of Ophthalmology, Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, Columbia University. He completed his Bachelor's degree in Optometry at the Technological Educational Institute of Athens in 2009, followed by practical experience as an optician and optometrist. His research specializes in the development and improvement of techniques for detecting and monitoring glaucoma, with a particular emphasis on optical coherence tomography (OCT) and perimetry for visual field assessments. His work aims to enhance the diagnostic capabilities for glaucoma detection and to evaluate the progression of the disease through a topographic structure-function analysis.
