Dr. Emmanuel Akintoye

Biography

Emmanuel Akintoye, MD, MPH, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine specializing in Cardiovascular Medicine at Yale School of Medicine. He completed advanced training as a Cardiac Imaging Fellow at Cleveland Clinic in 2023, a Cardiology Fellowship at the University of Iowa in 2021, and his residency at Wayne State University in 2018. Dr. Akintoye holds a Master of Public Health from Harvard School of Public Health (2014) and a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Ibadan (2010). His clinical focus is on multimodality structural imaging of the heart, including cardiovascular CT, MRI, echocardiography, and nuclear cardiology. He is board certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease and is committed to employing noninvasive imaging technologies to manage patients with known or suspected cardiovascular disease. Throughout his career, Dr. Akintoye has aimed to improve the quality of life and overall survival of his patients, stating that he finds fulfillment in addressing complex heart diseases using state-of-the-art technology. His research primarily involves the application of multimodality imaging techniques to diseases affecting the heart's valves.
