Biography

After studying in kinesiology at UQAC, Emmanuel Poirel briefly taught physical education before becoming a consultant kinesiologist and personal trainer in private occupational medicine. He continued his studies in psychology at Concordia, followed by psychopedagogy at UdeM, specializing in stress management, and practiced as a psychotherapist for ten years. His doctoral thesis focused on stress, emotional experiences, and coping strategies among school leaders, earning recognition in 2010 from two prestigious awards for best thesis in Canada. His research interests include health and leadership in school administration, workplace health interventions, and well-being in educational settings.
