Dr. Emmanuelle Brochiero

Biography

Emmanuelle Brochiero is a full professor at the Faculty of Medicine, Université de Montréal. Her research focuses on respiratory health, specifically the pathophysiology of cystic fibrosis, acute respiratory distress syndrome, and lung transplantation. She leads various research projects targeting therapeutic strategies to enhance airway epithelial repair and integrity in cystic fibrosis patients. Brochiero's work is supported by grants from institutions such as the Canadian Institutes of Health Research and the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada. Her research delves into ion channels as therapeutic targets during the resolution of acute respiratory distress and investigates new therapeutic approaches to improve the function of the airway epithelium in the context of cystic fibrosis. She teaches and supervises students at the graduate level, contributing to the education of future researchers in the biomedical fields, particularly focusing on health sciences and medical research.
