Biography

Emmeline Laszlo Ambjörnsson is an Associate Senior Lecturer in the Department of Human Geography at Uppsala University, Campus Gotland, where she has been working since 2023. She obtained her PhD from the Department of Human Geography at Stockholm University and has previously worked in the Department of Geography at Umeå University. Her research interests are firmly rooted in transdisciplinary social science, focusing on sustainability, natural resource management, governance, and planning policy with a particular emphasis on gender and intersectional power relations. Emmeline is theoretically and methodologically inclined towards poststructural understandings of gender as relational, spatial, and performative processes. Her work has been published in notable journals, including Gender, Place & Culture, Environment and Planning C: Government Policy, Scandinavian Journal of Forest Research, Forest Policy and Economics, and Ambio. In addition to her research, she teaches undergraduate and master level courses related to human geography and planning, particularly in the undergraduate planning program at Campus Gotland.
