Emre Seli is a Professor in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Sciences at Yale School of Medicine, where he also serves as Chief of the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility and Medical Director of the Yale Fertility Center. He received his medical degree from the University of Istanbul and completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Yale University. His postdoctoral training included a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and a research fellowship in molecular biology at Yale. As a physician-scientist, Dr. Seli's primary focus is to understand and treat infertility. His laboratory has characterized mechanisms regulating translational activation of gene expression in oocytes, and he has made significant contributions to the understanding of oocyte and embryo competence in the context of in vitro fertilization (IVF). Dr. Seli's current research focuses on the determinants of oocyte and embryo health and mechanisms of ovarian aging. He has published over 150 scientific articles and trained more than 100 pre- and post-doctoral fellows. Additionally, he has received numerous awards for his research, including the New Investigator Award from the American Society for Reproductive Medicine.
