Enda McVeigh obtained his undergraduate degree from Queen’s University Belfast and subsequently became a Member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG). He joined the Reproductive Medicine Team at Imperial College London and came to Oxford in 1997 as a Sub-Specialist trainee in Reproductive Medicine. After completing his training, he joined the academic staff at the Nuffield Department of Women's & Reproductive Health as a Senior Fellow and Honorary Consultant in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery. From 1999 to 2012, he served as the Director of the Sub-Specialist training program in Reproductive Medicine at Oxford and was the Medical Director and Lead Consultant at the Oxford Fertility Unit during the same period. In 2011, he initiated the Founding Partners IVF clinic network, which is the largest in the UK. Working with Stephen Kennedy, he facilitated the development of a successful MSc course in Reproductive Medicine that is closely linked to the IVF facility. McVeigh has also built collaborations with Leuven University to develop an Endometriosis surgical service in Oxford, which has become a national referral center. He was appointed Associate Professor in 2014. His research focuses primarily on Reproductive Medicine and Endometriosis, with current interests in ovarian tissue cryopreservation for pre-pubertal adolescent girls, supporting Endometriosis research activities led by Christian Becker.
