Dr. Endi Poskovic

Biography

Endi Poskovic is a Professor at the University of Michigan's Stamps School of Art & Design, where he teaches printmaking and interdisciplinary courses. Originally from Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Poskovic holds an MFA in Printmaking from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He has a rich educational background with degrees in Graphic Arts from the University of Sarajevo and a Diploma in Applied Arts from the Sarajevo School of Applied Arts. His academic journey includes teaching positions at several institutions, including Whittier College and Columbia College Chicago. Poskovic's creative work explores themes of displacement, memory, and cultural identity, presented through various technological mediums in printmaking. His installations and series, such as the Majestic Series and La Souffrance et L’Aventure Series, investigate personal and social histories while challenging viewers to reinterpret the printed image. His works have achieved critical acclaim and have been exhibited in numerous international biennials and triennials across America, Europe, and Asia, thus contributing significantly to contemporary art discourse. In addition to his teaching and creative practices, Poskovic is actively involved in research and has received multiple fellowships and grants, enhancing his contributions to the art and academic communities.
