Generate a tailored SOP for Dr. Eng Moo. Improve your application with a focused, well-structured draft.
Eng Kuan Moo is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Aerospace Engineering at Carleton University. He obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Malaya. His research interests include tissue cell biomechanics, mechanobiology, and microscopic imaging techniques such as confocal and multi-photon microscopy, as well as atomic force microscopy. His work primarily focuses on continuum mechanics, finite element modeling, and tissue engineering. He seeks to understand the structure-composition-function relationships in soft connective tissues and biological tissues, including articular cartilage and skeletal muscles. His research aims to explore how mechanical forces are transduced across multiple scales within cells and how cells interact with their surrounding structural networks in their native environments. Ultimately, Moo hopes to apply this knowledge to the field of tissue engineering, with the goal of bio-fabricating viable functional tissue substitutes for patients suffering from soft tissue injuries or diseases.
