Biography

Enric Esplugues studied Biology (Biomedicine) at the University of Barcelona, earning his PhD in 2003 under the supervision of Prof. Pilar Lauzurica in the Department of Cell Biology, Physiology, and Immunology. He completed his postdoctoral training at Yale School of Medicine from 2005 to 2008 under Prof. Richard Flavell. Following this, he worked as an Associate Research Scientist in the Immunobiology Department at Yale between 2008 and 2011. Currently, he serves as a Research Scientist in the same department. His research primarily focuses on various aspects of autoimmunity and immune system diseases, contributing to significant advancements in understanding autoimmune diseases and their implications. Esplugues has established collaborations with peers and has numerous publications, reflecting his active involvement in research. He has been recognized with awards such as the CCFA Senior Award from the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation America and the Ramon Margalef Award from the University of Barcelona.
