Dr. Enrico Costanza

Biography

Enrico Costanza is an academic specializing in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and Ubiquitous Computing (Ubicomp). His current research focuses on aiding individuals in interpreting data through interaction with artificial intelligence and autonomous systems. He is committed to a societal-focused research agenda that emphasizes energy, environmental sustainability, and digital health. His work explores the confluence of design and technology, informed by behavioral and social sciences. Costanza's research encompasses the design, implementation, and evaluation of innovative interactive systems across desktop, mobile, and embedded platforms. He has a specific interest in tangible user interfaces and wearable devices, as well as designable visual marker recognition. He joined the UCL Interaction Centre (UCLIC) in September 2016, having previously worked at institutions such as the University of Southampton, EPFL Media Design Lab, and the MIT Media Lab. He holds a PhD in Computer Communication Sciences from EPFL, a Master of Science in Media Arts and Sciences from MIT, and a Master of Engineering in Electronics and Communications Engineering from the University of York.
