Dr. Enrico Ferrari

Biography

Enrico Ferrari graduated from Turin Medical University in Italy with a medical degree and has undergone extensive training in general and cardiovascular surgery at prestigious institutions including University Hospital Padova, Catharina Hospital Eindhoven, and University Hospital Lausanne. Since becoming a senior cardiac surgeon in 2010, he has significantly contributed to the field through his role as the head of the Cardiac Surgery division at City Hospital Sion and as a senior staff member at the Cardiocentro Ticino Foundation in Lugano. He holds titles as Titular Professor at the University of Zurich and Assistant Professor at the University of Italian Switzerland, focusing on cardiovascular surgery. His expertise particularly lies in transcatheter heart valve procedures, including TAVR and valve-in-valve techniques. Throughout his career, Ferrari has performed over 3500 cardiac procedures, with more than 500 minimally invasive operations, and is recognized as an authority in his field. He has published over 140 original articles in esteemed scientific journals and has served as an associate editor and on editorial boards for several leading cardiothoracic journals. He remains actively involved in research and peer-review processes, showcasing his commitment to advancing cardiovascular care and education.
