Dr. Erchin Serpedin

Biography

Erchin Serpedin is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Texas A&M University. He earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Virginia in 1999. He has also obtained a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Digital Signal Processing Telecommunications from the Georgia Institute of Technology. His academic interests include Signal Processing for wireless communications, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Smart Power Grids, Bioinformatics, Genomics, and Cybersecurity. He has been recognized as a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) since 2013 and an IEEE Signal Processing Magazine Column Award recipient in 2018. Moreover, he is a Fellow of the Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station, awarded in 2005. Throughout his career, Serpedin has made significant contributions to his field, evidenced by multiple awards including the Paper Award from the IEEE International Conference Communications in 2019 and the Paper Award from the Globecom-Global Communications Conference in 2014.
