Biography

Eric Arsenault is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Yale University, beginning January 1, 2026. His research focuses on the development and application of ultrafast multidimensional spectroscopies to uncover the energy interactions within complex nanoscale environments, which dictate the behavior of various systems, from proteins to quantum materials. He employs innovative methods to push the frontiers of experimental capabilities, enabling the direct mapping of electronic, vibrational, and vibronic correlations across energy, length, and time scales. His work aims to probe multiscale dynamical processes that drive transformations, particularly in light-to-chemical energy conversion and the emergence of new quasiparticles and phases of matter in quantum materials. Arsenault's research program is dedicated to establishing mechanistic frameworks that will inform the design of solar conversion sources and functionally engineered proteins, as well as advanced-generation devices.
