Dr. Eric Badu

Biography

Eric Badu holds a PhD in Nursing with a focus on Mental Health from the University of Newcastle, Australia, along with a Master’s degree in Disability, Rehabilitation Development from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana. His research interests lie primarily in mental health, disability, quality improvement, resilience, and psychometric testing research methodologies. Eric has gained extensive teaching and research experience in mental health research, methodologies, and consumer outcome research. His PhD research utilized a realistic evaluation approach, combining mixed methods to assess the quality of health services. Prior to joining the University of Newcastle as a PhD candidate, he worked as a research advisor, leading and supporting research evidence-generating activities focused on disability health and social inclusion within inclusive education projects at Sightsavers in West Africa. Eric also has experience as a graduate teaching and research assistant at Kwame Nkrumah University.
