Dr. Eric Bortnick

Biography

Eric Max Bortnick, MD, MMSc, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Urology at Yale School of Medicine. He specializes in the treatment of genitourinary problems in children and adolescents, with an emphasis on conditions such as congenital anomalies, undescended testicles, and vesicoureteral reflux. After earning a Bachelor of Sciences degree from the University of Michigan, he graduated from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where he was recognized with a distinction in research and elected to the Gold Humanism Honor Society. Dr. Bortnick completed his residency in Urology at the Icahn School of Medicine and furthered his training with a Pediatric Urology Fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital, simultaneously obtaining a Master of Medical Sciences in Medical Education from Harvard Medical School. His commitment to providing high-quality medical and surgical care is reflected in his clinical practices, which aim to foster an environment of trust and communication with patients and their families. Dr. Bortnick's research focuses on improving educational outcomes in medical training, highlighting the importance of effective communication in surgery through innovative simulation tools.
