Dr. Eric Brandstedt

Biography

Eric Brandstedt is a senior lecturer at Lund University in the Department of Human Rights Studies and an associate professor in Practical Philosophy. His research primarily focuses on justice issues related to climate change and climate policy, with a motivation to understand how to achieve a transition to a fossil-free future. In recent years, he has shifted his attention to local justice issues associated with climate policies, such as the moral basis of perceived injustices in wind power development and the protests against high fuel prices. Eric's general interests lie within political philosophy, intergenerational justice, participatory methods, normative theory, and human rights. He has been involved in various research projects, either as a principal investigator or co-investigator, aimed at addressing ways to transition to a sustainable future. His work aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, contributing to the global effort to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure prosperity.
