Biography

Eric Falci joined the faculty at the University of California, Berkeley in Fall 2006 after completing his PhD at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. He specializes in 20th and 21st Century British and Irish poetry. His books include 'Continuity and Change in Irish Poetry, 1966-2010' (2012), 'Cambridge Introduction to British Poetry, 1945-2010' (2015), and 'Value Poetry' (2020). He is the series editor for Cambridge Elements in Poetry and Poetics and is currently the chair of the English department, having previously served as the Associate Dean of the Graduate Division from 2017 to 2021 and as the director of the Celtic Studies Program. He has numerous publications including essays in various edited volumes and academic journals as well as co-editing collections such as 'Irish Literature Transition, Volume VI: 1980-2020.' His research interests strongly focus on contemporary Irish and British poetry and its interrelations with modernism and form.
