Dr. Eric Feldman

Biography

Eric Feldman is the Heimbold Chair in International Law and a Professor at the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School, with additional roles as a Professor of Medical Ethics and Health Policy and Deputy Dean for Global Engagement. He holds a PhD in Jurisprudence and Social Policy, a JD, and a BA, all from the University of California, Berkeley. His scholarly work focuses primarily on Japanese law, comparative public health law, torts, and the interplay of law and society. Professor Feldman has authored and edited several influential works published by prestigious academic publishers such as Cambridge University Press and Oxford University Press, with articles featured in leading journals including the California Law Review and the New England Journal of Medicine. He has received numerous accolades, including being a two-time Fulbright Scholar in Japan, and has been involved in various research projects addressing pressing legal and health policy issues like smoking regulation and disaster law. Feldman is also an acclaimed media figure, having appeared on platforms such as NPR and BBC to discuss his research.
