Dr. Eric Giza

Biography

Dr. Eric Giza is a Professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of California, Davis, where he serves as the chief of the Foot & Ankle Division and director of the Orthopaedic Surgery Foot & Ankle Fellowship. He specializes in adult foot and ankle surgery, including minimally invasive arthroscopy and complex reconstruction. Dr. Giza’s clinical interests delve into cartilage transplantation and Achilles tendon repair. With a background as a collegiate soccer player, he has contributed to professional soccer as an assistant team physician for the United States Soccer Federation, where he has been involved with U.S. women's and men's national teams. His involvement extends to being the official team physician for the Sacramento Republic FC. Dr. Giza has published numerous journal articles and has presented at various prestigious meetings, demonstrating his extensive expertise in orthopaedic surgery. His educational background includes a Bachelor of Science from Haverford College and a Doctor of Medicine from Temple University. He completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Harvard and further specialized in Sports Medicine and Foot & Ankle Surgery through his fellowships.
