Biography

Eric Hald has spent the last seven years establishing a new Department of Biomedical Engineering at Shantou University, before returning to Ann Arbor as a lecturer with an emphasis on design courses and project-based experiential learning. He focuses on management of student project teams and aims to serve as a collaborative resource for students and faculty. Hald brings a wealth of cumulative research experience in clinical device development, vascular mechanics, and tissue engineering, as well as significant teaching experience in developing a comprehensive undergraduate biomedical engineering curriculum. He has also been involved in assessing student capabilities through participation in senior design review panels during his previous tenure at Michigan.
