Eric Heller joined the physics faculty at Harvard University in 1993 and became a member of the Center for Integrated Quantum Materials in 2009. He received his PhD in Chemical Physics from Harvard. His research primarily focuses on time-dependent semiclassical quantum mechanics applied to molecules and devices, particularly the flow of electrons in semiconductors. He also investigates tunneling in complex systems, imaging electrons in molecules, and the classical-quantum correspondence in nonlinear dynamical systems. His current interests include wave phenomena, which extend to acoustics and oceanography. In 2013, he published a textbook on acoustics and psychoacoustics for non-scientists, entitled "Why Hear Hear" with Princeton University Press. Heller is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the National Academy of Sciences.
