Biography

Eric Isaacson is an Associate Professor of Information Systems and Technology Management at UNSW School of Business. He holds a Ph.D. in Music Theory from Indiana University, where he was also a Professor Emeritus and served as the chair of the Music Theory Department. He has been involved in graduate studies at the Jacobs School of Music and has held adjunct roles in the Cognitive Science Program and the School of Informatics and Computing. He founded the Southern Indiana Wind Ensemble, conducting it for five years. In 2021, he became the Interim Executive Director of the Louisville Ballet. He is an active member of the Society for Music Theory, contributing as an editor for Music Theory Online and serving in various capacities within the organization. His research focuses on computational musicology, visualization of musical information, and minimalism in music. His upcoming book, "Visualising Music," published by Indiana University Press in 2023, discusses the intersection of art and music through graphical representations. He has authored numerous articles and reviews in prominent music theory journals.
