Biography

Eric Janssen is a lecturer in the Entrepreneurship Area Group at the Ivey Business School, where he also serves as the Executive Director of the Ivey New Venture Project. His teaching focuses on the intersection of sales, strategy, entrepreneurship, and innovation. In 2020, he received the David G. Burgoyne Teaching Award for his outstanding impact as an instructor. Before joining Ivey, Eric gained extensive experience in the private sector, working as a founder and early-stage employee in venture-backed, high-growth companies. He remains an active industry participant, serving as a Limited Partner at Stage 2 Capital and a direct investor and advisor to start-ups. In addition, he consults for start-ups, corporations, and non-profits in areas such as growth strategy and sales management. Eric is a graduate of Ivey’s HBA and MBA programs and has been featured in Fast Company, BNN Bloomberg, Globe and Mail, and Ivey Business Journal for his expertise in sales and entrepreneurial ventures.
