Biography

Eric Kemmeren is a Full Professor at the Department of Tax Economics, Tilburg School of Economics and Management (TiSEM), Tilburg University, specializing in international taxation and international tax law. He has been a professor since April 1, 2002, and is affiliated with the Fiscal Institute Tilburg. Prior to his academic career, he served as Counsel at Ernst & Young Tax Advisers in 1992 and later became Deputy Justice at the Arnhem Court of Appeals (Tax Division) in 2007. Kemmeren obtained his PhD from Tilburg University in 2001, with a thesis entitled 'Principle Origin Tax Conventions: Rethinking Models'. He is an editor of the EUCOTAX Series on European Taxation and chairs the editorial board of the EC Tax Review, published by Kluwer Law International. As a co-initiator and coordinator of the EUCOTAX Network, he plays a significant role in its Winter Course. Additionally, he frequently gives guest lectures at foreign universities and often speaks at international congresses, seminars, and courses. In 2011, Kemmeren became a member of the ECJ Task Force of the Confédération Fiscale Européenne.
