Biography

Eric H. Larson is an Emeritus Research Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Washington. He earned his undergraduate degree in Geography from the University of Minnesota and later obtained a master's degree in Medical Geography from the University of Calgary in Alberta. He entered the doctoral program in Medical Geography at the University of Washington in 1988, where he worked as a graduate research assistant at the WWAMI Rural Research Center in the Department of Family Medicine. Over his career, he has focused on health services research, particularly in rural health and workforce issues. After seventeen years with the Rural Health Research Center, he joined MEDEX Northwest in 2006, where he divided his time between physician assistant research and teaching in the MEDEX master's program. In 2012, he returned part-time to the WWAMI Rural Health Research Center, serving as the Director. Eric is passionate about the mission of MEDEX, which is dedicated to training healthcare providers and improving access to healthcare, especially in rural and underserved populations.
