Biography

Eric Luiten is a Professor of Landscape Architecture at Delft University of Technology. His work focuses on connecting landscape architectural research and education with societal issues, collaborating with partners in the professional field to enhance the Chair of Landscape Architecture. He also serves as an Advisor for Train Infrastructure at NS ProRail, is the chairman of the Committee on Spatial Quality for the municipality of Amsterdam, and runs his own landscape architecture firm. Luiten chairs the Landscape Triennale, a triannual landscape festival that establishes exhibitions and discussions about the past, present, and future of the Dutch cultural landscape. He was previously a Professor of Heritage Spatial Design in the Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment at Delft University of Technology from 2005 to 2014 and served as a National Advisor for Landscape Water Board Government Advisors in the Netherlands from 2012 to 2016.
