Biography

Eric Monroe specializes in minimally invasive, image-guided procedures, with special expertise in pediatrics. He studied Biochemistry at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and subsequently earned his medical degree with honors from Washington University in St. Louis. He completed a preliminary year at the Colorado Health Foundation and then a residency in Diagnostic Radiology at the University of Washington. Dr. Monroe furthered his training with a fellowship in Vascular & Interventional Radiology in 2015 before joining the faculty at the University of Wisconsin. He has authored or co-authored 80 articles in radiology, as well as multiple chapters in textbooks on imaging intervention. He is a regular lecturer at national and international meetings and serves on the American College of Radiology's Expert Panel on Interventional Radiology. His professional interests include education, healthcare technology, and clinical program development, while his clinical interests focus on portal hypertension, renovascular hypertension, liver transplant interventions, deep venous thrombosis, and interventional oncology. Dr. Monroe has been a faculty member at the University of Wisconsin since 2021.
