Biography

Eric Nowak is a Full Professor of Financial Management at Università della Svizzera italiana. He completed his PhD at the University of St Gallen in 1997, supported by a National Science Foundation fellowship during a research period at the University of Chicago. Prior to joining USI in 2003, he served as an assistant professor of finance at Goethe University Frankfurt, where he received his venia legendi in 2002. He has been a visiting professor at various institutions, including the University of Hohenheim, COPPEAD in Rio de Janeiro, CEIBS in Shanghai, and Witten/Herdecke University. He is also a fellow of the Center for Financial Studies and an affiliate member of the Swiss Finance Institute. His research interests span finance, entrepreneurship, and business history, with publications in renowned journals such as the Journal of Finance and the Journal of Business Venturing. Eric has coordinated the European Research Network on Regional Comparative Advantage and has held positions such as Senior Visiting Professor in Risk Management at the National University of Singapore. He currently directs the Master's program in Financial Technology and Computing at the Luxembourg School of Finance, contributing to the fields of financial management, corporate finance, and law and finance.
