Biography

Lee Eric Rubin, MD, is a fellowship-trained, board-certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee problems. He is an expert in joint preservation techniques, partial and total joint replacements, and revisions. Dr. Rubin focuses on treating patients with complications related to prosthetics and artificial joints. He pioneered the minimally invasive direct anterior approach (DAA) to hip replacement, which improves recovery times and patient experience. As the Section Chief of the Adult Reconstruction Division at Yale’s Department of Orthopaedics & Rehabilitation, and the Chief of the Total Joint Replacement Program at Yale New Haven Hospital, Dr. Rubin coordinates care, streamlines rehabilitation, and oversees quality improvement projects. He is also the Program Director of the Yale Arthroplasty Fellowship, where he educates fellows on advanced total joint reconstruction concepts. Dr. Rubin is actively involved in academia, training medical students, residents, and practicing surgeons in the DAA technique.
