Biography

Eric B Schneider earned his undergraduate degree and doctorate from Johns Hopkins University, where he graduated from the Bloomberg School of Public Health. Before joining the faculty at Yale, he served as Associate Professor in Surgery and Vice Chair of Surgery at the University of Virginia, where he also contributed to Health Services Outcomes Research. Dr. Schneider has held faculty positions at notable institutions including Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and Harvard Medical School. His research interests include multiple international studies, primarily in India, and he has been the principal investigator on several research studies funded by the Department of Defense. With an extensive publication record exceeding one hundred peer-reviewed articles, Dr. Schneider specializes in training clinical residents and research fellows in health services outcomes research. He has also mentored over forty post-doctoral research fellows and numerous surgical faculty members early in their careers.
