Biography

Eric Van Buskirk is a Senior Planner for the City of Champaign, where his primary responsibilities include land development review, long-range planning, and maintaining the Planning Department’s geospatial land use data. He also serves as the Historic Preservation Officer for the City. In addition to his role as a planner, he is an Adjunct Lecturer in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he teaches courses on land use planning and urban design. Before working in Champaign, he was a planner in the City of Dubuque, Iowa. Mr. Van Buskirk holds a Bachelor of Arts in Urban and Regional Planning and a Bachelor of Music in Oboe Performance, both from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
