Biography

Eric van Heck is a Professor of Information Management Markets at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University Rotterdam. His research primarily focuses on harnessing technology for digital circular business transformations, integrating insights from economics, management science, information systems, and computer science. His expertise encompasses AI, data analytics, digital ecosystems, and auction markets. He co-founded the Erasmus Center for Data Analytics and the Erasmus Center for Future Energy Business, and has been instrumental in developing master's programs in Business Information Management and Business Analytics Management. He has led significant research projects, such as the iFlow project, which utilized AI-driven collaboration in the horticulture sector. His work has been published in top journals including Information Systems Research, Management Science, and Harvard Business Review. He authored the book 'Technology Meets Flowers: Unlocking Circular Digital Economy,' which has gained recognition in the industry. Van Heck has received prestigious awards and is an active member of the global Association for Information Systems community, having held leadership positions in significant conferences. He earned his PhD in Information Systems from Wageningen University and has held visiting positions at renowned institutions, enhancing his experience in the corporate sector as well.
