Biography

Eric M. Vogel is the Hightower Professor in the School of Materials Science and Engineering and serves as the Executive Director of the Institute of Materials (IMat) at Georgia Institute of Technology. He joined Georgia Tech in August 2011 after serving as an Associate Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering and the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD), where he was also the Associate Director of the Texas Analog Center of Excellence and led the UTD portion of the Southwest Academy of Nanoelectronics. Prior to UTD, he was a leader of the CMOS Novel Devices Group at the National Institute of Standards and Technology. He earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from North Carolina State University in 1998, and holds a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Penn State University (1994). Dr. Vogel's research interests focus on functional electronic and optical materials, contributing to over 200 refereed publications and 90 invited talks.
