Biography

Eric Zolt is the Michael H. Schill Distinguished Professor of Law at UCLA Law, where he has been a faculty member since 1985. He specializes in corporate tax matters, business strategy, and international taxation. Zolt received his B.S. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in 1974, his M.B.A. from the University of Chicago in 1975, and his J.D. from the University of Chicago in 1978. Zolt has received numerous accolades for his teaching, including the University's Distinguished Teaching Award and the Law School's Rutter Award for Excellence in Teaching. He has held visiting professorships at prestigious institutions such as NYU Law School, Harvard Law School, and Yale Law School. Additionally, Zolt is a member of the UN Tax Committee on Wealth Taxes and has co-founded the African Tax Institute, contributing to training tax officials across Africa. His extensive bibliography includes works on tax treaties, inequalities in taxation, and the impact of tax policy on development. Zolt continues to contribute to the field of tax law and policy through teaching and research.
