Biography

Dr. Erica M. Fallon is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, Columbia University, as well as a Director of Pediatric Surgical Oncology at Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital, New York-Presbyterian. She earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin after completing her undergraduate studies at Georgetown University. Dr. Fallon completed her General Surgery residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, affiliated with Harvard Medical School, where she conducted extensive research on parenteral nutrition-associated liver disease and postoperative adhesions. Following her residency, she completed a clinical fellowship in Pediatric Surgery at Hospital for Sick Children, and a subspecialty fellowship in Pediatric Surgical Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Dr. Fallon has a strong research background, recognized as a Joshua Ryan Rappaport Research Fellow, receiving independent funding from the National Institutes of Health. Her research interests include Minimally Invasive Pediatric Surgery, Pediatric Cancer, Neonatal Surgery, and Gastrointestinal Diseases. Dr. Fallon has been active in academic forums, authored numerous papers in peer-reviewed journals, and received multiple awards for her research and teaching. She is a committed member of the American Pediatric Surgical Association, among other professional organizations, and is dedicated to providing collaborative, meticulous surgical care to children and their families.
