Biography

Erica Gould is a Lecturer in the Program in International Relations at Stanford University. She serves as the Honors Program Director and has been a core lecturer for over ten years. Her teaching experience includes courses on honors thesis writing, international political economy, and international organizations. Prior to joining Stanford, Erica was a faculty member at the University of Virginia and also taught at Johns Hopkins University and the Higher School of Economics in Moscow. Her research primarily focuses on questions regarding international organizations and the mechanisms of accountability tied to them. Erica is currently engaged in a project about international organizational decision-making rules and accountability mechanisms. Her notable publications include 'Money Talks: International Monetary Fund, Conditionality Supplementary Financiers' (Stanford University Press, 2006) and numerous articles in academic journals and edited volumes. In addition to her research and teaching duties, she serves on the Board of the Accountability Counsel, an international NGO based in San Francisco. She holds a PhD in Political Science from Stanford University and completed her BA at Cornell University.
