Dr. Érick Duchesne

Biography

Érick Duchesne is a full professor in the Department of Political Science at Laval University, affiliated with the Faculty of Social Sciences. He is a regular member of the Research Centre on the Economics of the Environment, Agri-food, Transportation, and Energy (CREATE). His research focuses on international political economics, international negotiations, and trade policies. Duchesne has contributed significantly to the field through various publications, including analyses of economic development and the World Bank, as well as the dynamics of international economic negotiations in the transatlantic and transpacific contexts. His work also engages with the politics surrounding trade negotiations and the implications of environmental treaties. Outside of academia, he has provided insights into Canadian sovereignty and security issues in various media appearances, showcasing his expertise and thought leadership on pertinent global economic matters.
