Biography

Erik Elmroth is a Professor in the Department of Computing Science at Umeå University, where he possesses extensive leadership experience, including roles such as Department Head and Deputy Director of the national supercomputer center (HPC2N). Under his leadership from 2009 to 2012, he transformed the department from being primarily education-focused to a strong research entity. Elmroth has been instrumental in initiatives that have doubled the department's size and enhanced its international competitiveness. His international experience includes work at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Furthermore, Elmroth co-founded Elastisys AB, known for its focus on security and compliance in software development.
