Biography

Erik Groessl is an Adjunct Professor at the Herbert Wertheim School of Public Health and Human Longevity Science at the University of California, San Diego. He obtained his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the SDSU/UCSD Joint Doctoral Program in 1999, and also holds a B.A. in Psychology from DePaul University (1994) and a B.S. in Economics from the University of Wisconsin, Madison (1987). His research interests include enhancing mind-body interventions to reduce disability and pain, particularly in veterans with PTSD. He has received funding from the National Institutes of Health for various projects aimed at improving functionality in veterans suffering from chronic low back pain and other related conditions through yoga therapy and other innovative approaches. Groessl is dedicated to exploring clinical trials and the application of mind-body techniques in improving health outcomes.
