Biography

Erik Kristensen is a Professor in the Department of Biology at the University of Southern Denmark, where he has been a faculty member since 1985. He holds a Ph.D. in Marine Ecology from the University of Aarhus and a Dr.Sc. in Biogeochemistry from the University of Southern Denmark. His research primarily focuses on biogeochemical processes, ecosystem functioning, and the impact of bioturbating benthic fauna on marine sediments. His recent work has concentrated on ecological restoration and marine biodiversity, particularly in coastal lagoon ecosystems. He is also a contributing editor for the 'Marine Ecology Progress Series'.
