Biography

Erik Mayer is a Clinical Associate Professor at Imperial College London and a consultant surgeon with a specialization in Urology at Imperial College Healthcare and the Royal Marsden NHS Trusts. He obtained his undergraduate MBBS from King's College London, where he was awarded a Gold Medal. His ongoing research employs big data analytics and artificial intelligence to enhance quality and safety in healthcare. He serves as the Director of the North West London iCARE Secure Data Environment, holds a leadership role in the NHS Trust’s transformation as Chief Clinical Information Officer, and chairs various committees at the NIHR Imperial Academic Health Science Centre. Additionally, he is a Fellow of the British Computer Society and leads projects under the NIHR Biomedical Research Centre focusing on Digital Health while directing the MSc in Health Policy.
